Representatives of the majority of our 166 centres attended last week’s annual Centre Forum at the Coventry Arena. Expertly chaired by CEO Paul Byrne, with inputs from Vikki Williams our Qualifications Manager and two of our supported charities – Trailblazers Mentoring and Woodshed Workshop – the programme was full and informative (and the refreshments were amazing!).
In 2023 CABWI provided £766,000 funding to our charities. In 2024 the figure is likely to grow, thanks to the work of our operating company and the support of our centres. Paul was able to announce that our growth is partly due to the great service that the operating company provides, in terms of continually improving communications, a fast turnaround on certificates, no charge for resits or replacement certificates and in 2024-25, maintaining our fees at current levels. What’s not to like!
In his final session, Paul talked about how we value feedback from our centres, so please tell us how we can improve the day. One interesting development is that CABWI will provide, following due scrutiny, a third-party endorsement of other centre courses. Over 280 courses are currently covered by our scope of recognition.
