Mike Baker
Mike has a long association with the water and infrastructure development industries. He has held senior leadership positions with projects both in the UK and overseas. His senior operational management roles drove a keen awareness of the importance of developing vocational skills as a cornerstone to success of the business and the individual. This has led to a long association with CABWI, being appointed first as a non-executive Director in 2001 and a Trustee in 2013. Like his fellow Trustees, he shares a strong desire for CABWI to support the personal and skills development of disadvantaged people to boost their self-esteem and help them step into the labour market.
Paul Byrne
Paul has worked in the learning and development industry in a variety of roles for over 40 years, with 10 years spent in the awarding sector. He has led CABWI as Chief Executive Officer since December 2016. Paul has been instrumental in growing our commercial operation, which has enabled us to support a growing number of charities. Paul is also a non-executive Director of the Federation of Awarding Bodies, which is the sector related trade body. He also serves as a member of the Institute of Water Finance Committee. In his spare time he supports a few charities by marshalling at sponsored runs and walks.
Jan Ellis
Jan is a qualified career adviser with over 30 years executive level experience in the career guidance sector, leading on marketing communications, business development, partnerships and most recently as a chief executive and professional consultant. She is currently a board member of the ICCDPP (International Centre for Career Development and Public Policy), a member of the Career Development Policy Group and a trustee of three charities which support personal and skills development, with a focus on getting disadvantaged young people and adults closer to the labour market.
Lee Horrocks
Lee is passionate about the water industry, a sector he has worked in for over 40 years both in the UK and overseas. His experience spans major contracting organisations and professional consultancies, concluding with Director, MD & CEO roles. For the last eight years his portfolio career in the water sector has included Chair, Vice-Chair, Non-Executive Director and Strategic Advisor roles with Contractors, Consultants and Government bodies including Ofwat the England & Wales water sector regulator, and the Irish Governments export support agency Enterprise Ireland.
Jackie Scarfe
Jackie’s HR career spans over 30 years with senior leadership roles in both publicly and privately-owned global businesses and NGOs. She has a passion for supporting disadvantaged individuals to achieve their full potential and has been able to deliver a number of successful initiatives over the years through these leadership roles. In her spare time, Jackie is a keen long-distance runner and works as a volunteer within her local NHS A&E department.
